# How to create a form with editable text fields?

I want the user to be able to update their info beyond the default.  
I tried to add a a button with the action: update a record → this record but it doesn’t add an input box?

Hi @DanEsd - it sounds like you’re trying to setup [Action Buttons](https://guides.noloco.io/actions/action-buttons) which certainly should create editable fields, **unless** the user doesn’t have permission to edit those fields (based on your [Field Level Permissions](https://guides.noloco.io/users-and-permissions/user-roles-and-permissions/field-level-permissions)
