# "New Record" Forms as overlay / allow Action Buttons next to "New" Button

Currently the “New Record” Button always opens the Form in a dedicated Page. Going to a new page every time you want to create a new item makes feel quite slow and cumbersome. I would be nice if you could choose to open it as modal (like action buttons) instead. I use action buttons to create new records in other places and it feels much lighter and quicker.

On that note: It would be cool if you could add Action buttons next to the “New Record” buttons of a collection list. Good for actions like “new record of a certain type, eg. new task, new note etc”.

I just noticed that this has been implemented for Collection Pages now which is awesome!

However the option is not available for Collections on Blank/Record Pages.

Hoping this ist just WIP right now and it will be added soon? 🙂

Was just writing my own thread and saw this one come up so giving it a +1…

It would be great to add custom action buttons to related record lists rather than just the standard new record/import/export buttons.

Sometimes I want to provide users an automated action (e.g. add a specific type of item to a list) without them having to manually fill out the details.

Currently resorting to adding action buttons above the table but then they’re not in-line with the new record/export buttons so doesn’t look great visually.
