# Show empty "groups" in charts

Hi there,

I would love to have a way to display data in a chart and also show empty values. I have multiple use cases, where I have charts where the x axis shows a date grouped by e.g. month. Right now, a month without any entries in the database isn’t shown at all. But I would want this empty month to still be shown but with y value 0. Is that possible?

Hey @tf-123512356 good question!

Are you grouping your chart by a proper date field, and choosing to group it by month, or are you using a text field with the month.

We should be showing you all the data, for every month in the range, but I’ll get the team to investigate.

Hey @tf-123512356 we double checked this, and you’re right, that full date-ranges weren’t showing up on charts.

Now if you’re grouping by a period, and there’s no value for that date period (such as a year) it will still show up in the chart.

This applies to days, week, months, quarters and years.
