Conditions rooted in dark/light mode

Conditions rooted in dark/light mode

  • Use-case example: Certain images (for example logos) look bad in either light or dark mode. The obvious workaround is to simply re-design the logo in your app to be a brighter or darker color (as needed), so that it works decently with both light and dark mode. But that’s a bad workaround because people follow brand style guides.
  • In other words, maintaining proper color tone and visual continuity across the assets displayed in an app really matters. So, being able to conditionally display X logo when the app is in light mode, and then Y logo when the app is in dark mode, would be amazing.

Exhibit A
Example of good color contrast, light

Exhibit B
Example of poor color contrast, dark.
It would be ideal to conditionally display the white version of the logo here.
