560 Character limit? Nola prompt limit / AI app setup with longer prompt

I’m building a new Noloco app and trying to use Nola/AI to help generate the initial structure.

In the left-side Nola chat, the prompt box appears to be limited to 560 characters, but my full app-build prompt is several thousand words. I’m almost certain that when I built my first Noloco app, I was able to give the AI a much longer prompt all at once during the initial setup.

Am I using the wrong entry point?

Specifically:

  1. Is there a separate “Start with AI” or onboarding flow where longer prompts can be submitted?

  2. Is the 560-character limit only for the in-app Nola chat?

  3. Has anyone found a better way to give Nola a full app spec without breaking it into dozens of small prompts?

  4. Is there a recommended workflow for giving Nola a larger data model / app architecture brief?

Trying to understand whether this is a current limitation, a plan limitation, or if I’m just in the wrong part of the builder.

Good news! We actually increased the Nola prompt limit to 1,000 characters today, so hopefully that gives you a bit more room to work with your prompts. Please let us know your experience from now on!
