Would be really helpful to be able to colour these based on conditions.

Would you be able to demonstrate what you like about how it’s done elsewhere?
Presuming you mean ‘why is this helpful’ - some records are populated, some not. A colour indicator can be used to highlight this, removing the need for users to click through each date themselves.
I use this for ‘project has VIP tasks’ in my PM base, for example.
