🚀 Noloco Launch Week Day 4: Smarter Navigation, AI-Powered Tables & Custom Layouts!

Welcome to Day 4 of Launch Week! As a reminder, each day this week we will be announcing some major new features available in Noloco. That have been highly requested in our Community.

We’re excited to reveal three more game-changing features that make Noloco more intuitive, intelligent, and customizable than ever.

Open Records in a Side-Drawer

Now you can open records in a side-drawer directly from your table views.

  • Keep the list view in the background while navigating multiple records effortlessly.
  • All functionality remains the same, including tabs and comments.

This highly requested feature ensures you never lose context when working on your data.

AI Suggested Fields

Building tables just got smarter with AI-powered suggestions.

  • Automatically suggest columns based on the table name and other tables in your app.
  • Generate sample data to visualize your table instantly.
  • Add custom descriptions to tailor suggestions further to your specific needs.

This feature is a huge time-saver, helping you set up tables quickly and efficiently.

Custom Card Sizes

Bring more flexibility to your Cards and Rows layouts!

  • Choose from Small, Medium, Large, or Extra Large card sizes.
  • Noloco automatically optimizes the number of cards displayed per row, adapting to any screen size.

This allows you to create layouts perfectly suited to your data, from dense contact cards to expansive project views.

Don’t wait to start using these features—unlock their full potential today!

Another great update, this is a big week for you guys!

I had noticed the introduction of the side-drawer yesterday but figured I’d wait for the official announcement…

I have noticed a couple of things:

  1. It doesn’t play nicely with nested views, you can’t for example have sidebar on a nested view but full page on the parent view, secondly if you do have it enabled on both pages it then redirects to the parent view to open the side-drawer which is jarring and unexpected behaviour.
  2. It would be great if you made use of container queries to automatically fit the content nicely (similar to mobile e.g. if I have some components 50/50 on the page to make them full-width in side-drawer) - I get we could obviously create new views for usage with the side-drawer but that’s more work for the builders and also doesn’t provide the expected desktop experience when they maximise the side-drawer window

I’m excited for tomorrow’s update, I think I’ve already spotted what’s going to be announced but haven’t had chance to try it out yet

Great feedback @EthosLuke - all things we’re looking into already as we expand how it works!

We find it’ll work best for more simpler record layouts, so it might just require some re-thinking for now

How do we get the Open Records in a Side-Drawer to work if I may ask?

@sonorus has a great video showing exactly how it works @garyGHL

Thanks Darragh, my app seems to have not updated yet. Video suggested it was under actions, this is what mine looks like  No worries, Ill wait until it appears, no rush.

Weirdly though, the cards update is there. Maybe its the way mine is setup.

Hey Gary,

I think it’s only possible to apply it at a collection page level at the moment, not on table/list components on a record page although that would be super useful!

Great Updates and super excited for the Drawer view!

However it seems like it is not available for Lists on Blank Pages or Record Pages.
Is it not updated fully yet or is this by Design?

Would be very sad if it was only available for Collection Pages as we don’t use them at all :frowning:

Thanks, yes I just tried on other tables/pages and its there. :+1:

Great questions everyone - at the moment it’s only supported on Views, as @EthosLuke suggested.

In the future we would like to support it on other formats, but it would be a big change to how routing/visibility rules work.

Really appreciate the feedback and enthusiasm though

Is it possible to get these Side-Drawers to work on blank-detail pages collection lists?
