Turning off airtable linked allow multiple

I’ve had several linked record fields in airtable that were set to allow multiple linked records in the past. I’ve learned that there are benefits to having this turned off in noloco in certain circumstances. Unfortunately whenever I update this setting on a field to turn multiple linked records off it breaks everything in noloco connected to that field by seeing it as a completely new field. I have to go through forms and fields throughout my app to update filter settings and put the field back as it belongs.

Is there any way to avoid this??? I have a particularly critical field I want to turn off linking multiple records but it would cause a chain reaction that could take me days to resolve.

Hi @onlymatt - it shouldn’t break anything other than filters that are using the fact that it is a multi-field (or similar).

One solution is to create a new field, copy all the data into it, make sure that field is single-linked, and then move all your filters etc over to that new field safely.

This way everything stays working and you can manage the change
