Desktop notifications clarification question

I just noticed that in chrome now users within a noloco app are asked if they’d like to enable desktop notifications, I believe this is new (nice!) and just want to verify a few things bc I’m not sure it’s in the documentation yet…

  1. What types of things generate desktop notifications for end users? I’m assuming record comments and perhaps even action button “trigger notification” action?
  2. Any way to modify the message that shows with the initial “enable notifications” pop up on the user end? It would be great to be able to add some context on why they should enable pop ups.

Side note, if “trigger notification” action from an action button doesn’t trigger a desktop notification, that would be EPIC if it could… my app has many time based actions that would be useful in letting users know something has happened in real time via a desktop notification

Thanks!

Great question:
We touch on this in our PWA guides:

At the moment there are 2 main types of notifications

I think the second option is probably what you’re looking for right now anyway!
