Enable in-line editing after clicking Edit button

Hi team,

We have a lot of lists in our app that need quick inline and bulk editing, restricted by user roles. In-line editing can now be made conditional, which is helpful. But in our experience, you would like to the users to just see the non-editable table by default and then active editing when needed. Like when you click the Edit button when editing records, ideally a same button would activate in-inline editing, taking into account the in-line editing permissions.

Today, if you want a similar workflow, we would suggest using an Action Button on the table/list that opens the fields you want to edit in a modal.

Either way, we’ll take this into consideration when we review our tables and inline-editing controls later this year
