Inline Creation of new records

Alongside the much needed and heavily requested improvement to the inline editing of fields in tables, it would be really useful to have the option to enable inline creation of new records to allow users to quickly add new rows without having to fill in a form.

Of course this option is not suitable for all workflows and should be a separate option the builders can enable on the tables.

+1 that’s maybe the biggest missing feature for me.

We have so many use cases where we need to create several records in once and the form is just slow.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but the ‘bulk editing’ functionality of a SharePoint list is exactly what we need. (:folded_hands: be nice)

Yes please, this would be great. Also requested over here

Tbh I think having it work like a spreadsheet would be ideal as not only creating new records but there are often cases where users also need to be able to copy/paste values from one row into multiple other rows, so being able to highlight those cells and paste or even better drag from the bottom right corner of 1 cell up/down would be great.

I didn’t want to push it that far, but I agree, that would be the dream.

Btw. I did a lot of research in this area, and I couldn’t find a no-code solution to support it. This would be a significant differentiator for Noloco in the marketplace.

Airtable does actually have this functionality on their grid views/components, but obviously they have plenty other issues / limitations in their interfaces around business logic, visibility, permissions, etc. that Noloco solves.

And Noloco does also have pretty decent inline editing (albeit no inline creation) of records within the admin data page, just nothing available in the front end for end users which is a real shame.
