Format emails with Markdown, Device Type Visibility Rules, and more

Hey there, this is Darragh from Noloco with some of the latest updates to the Noloco platform. This will be the last update of 2024! It’s been a year of some amazing updates, and this is no different.

Let’s dive in!

Format emails with Markdown

Automated workflow emails in Noloco now support markdown formatting. When configuring your Email workflow actions, you can use markdown to:

  • Add headings for better structure
  • Create bullet lists for clarity
  • Include links for easy navigation
  • Apply text formatting like bold or italics

Control your Duration Fields

You now have greater flexibility when using duration fields in your Noloco app. While the default format remains hours, minutes and seconds, you can now customize it to suit your specific needs:

  • Hours and minutes (hh:mm)
  • Minutes and seconds (mm:ss)

This update allows you to better match the format to your workflows, whether you’re measuring the duration of work in hours, or timings of tests in minutes.

QR Codes

Turn any text or number field in your Noloco app into a scannable QR code. Simply change the display type of the field to ‘QR Code,’ and it will generate a scannable code.

Your new QR codes can also be easily downloaded for printing or attaching to equipment, inventory, or assets, making it easier to integrate with your workflows.

Device Type Visibility Rules

You can now manage the visibility of any page, tab, component, or action button in your Noloco app based on the device being used. Choose whether elements are visible on mobile or desktop to streamline mobile experiences by hiding unnecessary options on smaller screens or enhance desktop workflows with additional controls for larger displays.

Other improvements

As always, there’s a host of other updates that we need to mention too

  • Better Publishing and sharing experience
  • Our AI assistant generates better default text when you add a new page
  • You can now update and disable your Google Sign in settings
  • You are now asked to confirm before deleting a user
  • Customize the ‘Add a record’ button when editing related records
  • You can add descriptions to your tables to help explain what they do
  • Chart series can now be cloned
  • The Slack Workflow action now uses your app’s favicon instead of the rectangular app logo
  • There’s now an easy way to view all of the in-app shortcuts

That’s all for this update! As always, let us know what you think about the new features, and if you want to request a feature checkout our feature requests
