Launch Week Day 2 - Two Factor Authentication 🔒

Hey Everyonr,

It’s Day 2 of Launch Week! :rocket: Each day this week, we’re unveiling powerful new features in Noloco—many of which have been highly requested by our Community.

Yesterday, we introduced Noloco AI…

Today, we’re excited to bring you Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to enhance security for your Noloco apps!

With 2FA, you add an extra layer of security to keep your data safe.

With 2FA, you app users will need both their password, and something else, a one-time password (OTP) from an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy before they can log in to your app.

This additional step ensures that only verified users can access your organization’s data, even if passwords are compromised.

How to Set Up 2FA in Noloco

  1. Enable 2FA in Settings: Go to the “Login & Signup” section in your app’s settings and turn on 2FA.
  2. Provide Users with Instructions: Share with your users how to set up an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
  3. When Logging In: You’ll be prompted to setup your Two-factor authentication, by scanning a QR code in your authenticator app.

Once enabled, users will receive OTPs through their chosen authenticator app, adding an extra safeguard for your data.

For a detailed setup guide, check out the full instructions.

That’s all the updates for today! Keep an eye on your inbox for tomorrow’s Launch Week update.

This is a great much needed addition, in a similar topic are there any plans for passkey support?

Glad you like it @EthosLuke !

We haven’t been asked for Passkey support before, but it’s something we’ll definitely consider.

What’s the advantage from your perspective?

I find that passkeys offer a quicker / more seamless login experience versus password + 2fa (i.e. I don’t have to have my phone on hand to open the authenticator app / get SMS code) whilst being just as if not more secure.

I‘m very happy to see that 2FA is available now, but why not for all paid plans?

Small organisation don’t have the IT department nor the budget for security but they are still exposed to the same risk.

Maybe you could reconsider the pricing approach for 2FA.

Thank you

I was hoping it was included in the Pro plan, 2FA is crucial nowadays.
