Currently it is impossible to trigger a workflow based on an edit made in Airtable.
The trigger “when a record is updates” does not work when the update has been made in airtable/by an airtable automation.
It would be nice if this could be changed.
Airtable allows triggering Automations by updates in formulas, noloco does not.
My workaround was an airtable automation that actually edits a field in the according record but even that is not enough for noloco to trigger a workflow.
We would definitely like to support this, and we might in the future, but at the moment, Airtable records change very frequently due to time-based formulas, and other calculations that make it harder to determine which records are real human changes, and which aren’t.
In our testing, it resulted in a lot of workflows being ran when you didn’t want them run.
But it’s great to know you’re interested in this.
One workaround would be to use Make/Zapier to trigger the Noloco update/workflow?
