Comment Field behaviour with/without inline editing enabled

I have a comment field populated with C. 500 words, and the comment box/window is sized appropriately to fit the entered text. When I enable inline editing, the comment box changes to a size far in excess of what is required, making scrolling through records cumbersome. When inline editing is unchecked again, the comment box reverts to its original size, again fitting the entered text.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Pablo10 this is something we’re aware of with inline-editing. We hope to overhaul that in the near future

You could potentially use action-buttons to edit the text instead if that’s a better user-experience

Hi @darragh

Just following up on this, when you have a Note/Comment field in Noloco (a long text field from Airtable), you experience the same behaviour as outlined above when you edit a record.

The text displays appropriately sized when viewing the record, but the box expands far more than required when you go to edit the record. The same thing happens if you edit via an action button.

via action button

Is there any way to address this, or do we need to wait for a future release?

Thanks,
Pablo.

Thanks for sharing @Pablo10 - I see what you’re saying now
