Mobile - comments window gets resized above screen width

Hello community,

I couldn’t find a dedicated bug report regarding the comments widget resizing issue, so I created a new one.

Issue: When a user clicks into the comment text area to type a comment on mobile, the comments widget width gets resized above the screen width. The consequence is, that the submit button disappears.

If you zoom out on your mobile, the width gets adjusted again, and you can submit the comment.

This is a very confusing issue for users, especially those who don’t use this functionality daily.

Hey @Christoph - thanks for reporting this.

Do you happen to have a screenshot of this behaviour, because we’re not seeing the same thing.

Are you referring to the comment component, or the Sidebar?

If you could share your device name/model that might also help us track this down.

Thanks in advance

Hey @darragh,

thank you for coming back to me. I just created a short video for this. I could swear the button disappeared, now just the padding left and right gets removed when I click into the text field.

How can I share the video with you?

Thank you

Hey @Christoph - if you can DM it to us here on the community, or reach out to our support team through the in-app chat or support@noloco.io

We’d be happy to review it and see what we can fix

@darragh I figured out what the issue is.

If a text field has the ‘Display as field’ setting of ‘Rich text editor’. Then we still have on mobile the issue, that the text box is zooming in. The UI does not take the max-screen-width into consideration and we have overflow.

I changed all the fields, but I can’t fix this issue with the comments widget.

Can you please have a look at this topic?

Thank you,
Christoph

Would you be able to send us a link to the page that’s having this issue?

We use the comments widget ourselves and haven’t ran into this issue at all so it might be specific to your setup.

Thanks for the update though
