Thanks to the amazing update of AI assistance with the formula fields, I’m doing more formulas directly in Noloco tables!
Question though- it looks like formula fields and lookps have a lag time period they run to update, like maybe they only refresh every so often at a specific interval of time?
I’m used to Airtable that’s pretty instant for both formula fields and lookups. Should I expect there to be lag time when it comes to formulas and lookups in native Noloco tables? That’s fine- just want to set my expectations and the clients. While it was lagging I kept refreshing but also wasn’t sure if it was just my formula that was incorrect while I waited.
Hey @darragh, my formulas seem to have sorted themselves out. I’m using a Lookup field though to populate a workflow automation and it’s not updating instantly or for quite a while, been 5 mins, published, refreshed. Doesn’t seem to have a pattern as to when it updates.
I am using this in a non-traditional way. I am using a record in one Noloco Table to auto-update the number with the next consecutive number and then update the most recently created number in a different table.
In Airtable I would use the “Find record” feature in the automations to resolve this but this use case is 100% in Noloco tables. So I’m using the Lookup as a workaround, but it’s not updating in order to provide the number I need, even though it is linked correctly.
Latest Log Number Lookup is supposed to populate another formula field from the linked record to latest log number collection.
Let me know if I should submit to support with my app link. Thank you!
I’ve since changed it to be a Lookup Number field of a Number field to see if that helped but am still seeing the same issue. I’d originally had the Linked Record could only be linked to 1 record. It would essentially get updated to the next record in line every time a new one was created via form.
But I’ve changed the linked configuration to it can link to many records.
The lookup field doesn’t update/populate when the record is linked via hidden field in the form, nor when just unlinking and linking manually in the data. It also stays visible for the 1 record that is no longer linked anymore.
It’s also strange though that if I try to leave it in the form without it being a hidden record, it won’t show the record’s name. The first field in the linked table (that they 'd be selecting in the form dropdown) is a Formula Field.
It was initially. I then tried it through a one-to-many lookup field, but same issue. I now have both in my app, but I’ll await a solution and then go from there.
All good on timing, I appreciate you all! I just kept trying things to see and figured it could be helpful context for the dev team.
Hey @darragh Hope you all had a great holiday! Wanted to check in on the status here. Should I submit a support ticket for our app issues or is this a global issue that will have a solution rollout? I’ll adjust my client’s workflows temporarily if needed based on the timeline.
