I started having a problem with one of my forms last week. The form is for creating a receipt record. The user is expected to select a project from a list for most receipts. We’ve been using this same form for months but it just stopped pulling projects. I’ve checked the form settings, all good, nothing has changed. I’ve checked permissions and sync data many many many times. Help?
Hey @onlymatt, this seems pretty straightforward, kind of strange it is not working. Can you share a screenshot of the Project collection
field settings in Airtable (right click > edit field)?
We’re still using the linked record field successfully via buttons, its only the form that stopped working.
Hi @onlymatt
This is actually related to you using a value from the Project
field in your form conditions - these aren’t currently supported (or perhaps working correctly)
Worth noting that you also had a bunch of invalid filters/conditions which makes me think you’ve changed a type of field at some point, or maybe removed a few fields
In any case, removing the conditions in the first screenshot fixed it
Is there anything that can be done to resolve this? I can’t stress enough how disappointing this will be if it can’t be resolved. This was one of the original features that added a ton of value to noloco for me and has been working well for months, I’d estimate I created over 1,500 records using this form, it gets almost daily use for my team.
@onlymatt - the form is working for you now, what are you hoping to resolve?
The use of the conditional visibility of the field?
Conditional visibility is ideal but I should be more clear. They way I had it set up previously the user would select a project first and then the cost line field would become visible and the user could select a cost line filtered by the selected project. THIS is the key feature for me. It allows the user to enter receipts from many different projects through one form and select the cost line appropriate for that receipt. When I put the cost line field to filter by project it now causes the same error as the visibility filter. As it stands now I had to remove the cost line option entirely because theres no way for the user to know which project the cost line they are selecting belongs too. I’m open to alternative options but the key seems to be filtering or visibility based on form condition of a linked field either way.
Thanks for highlighting this part
Did you recently change it so that multiple projects can be selected? Because I think that might be the case - and I think that’s the root of the problem actually
Because it sounds like only one project should be selectedable but the field is setup to support many
From your screenshot earlier in the thread - I think you should uncheck
“Allow linking to multiple records”
That was the key! Everything is functioning correctly as before including the conditional visibility. I’d have no reason to have changed that field to allow multiple but possibly I did by accident and that’s what set it off. I’m glad the functionality that I need is there though. Thanks for the help!
Glad we were able to figure it out!
Those configurations, while confusing, are typically key in Noloco to how it functions and the options available
